GSMI's Social Media Strategies Summit in Chicago Announces Dell, IBM & Technorati Speakers

Social Media Strategies Summit (SMSS) - Chicago is excited to present its newest additions to the speaker line-up: Ed Brill from IBM, Liz Brown Bullock from Dell, and Shani Higgins from Technorati.

About to begin its fourth year with successful events throughout the US and in the UK, SMSS aims to educate social media professionals on emerging strategies, the latest social tools, and insights from successful social media marketing campaigns. SMSS - Chicago is excited to announce new speakers just recently added to the speaker line-up!

Liz Brown Bullock, Director of Social Media and Community at Dell will be presenting on the "Internal Collaboration" track about creating brand and employment ambassadors through social media channels. In her current role, Liz focuses on embedding social media within the organization, activating customer-connected employees and operationalizing Dell's social enterprise. Liz is also a senior leader within Dell's central social media team focused on strategy, governance, best practices, measurement and training. Liz founded and manages Dell's social media training and certification program (SMAC University) to activate employees to engage online on behalf of Dell.

Ed Brill, Director of Product Management at IBM Social Solutions and Author of Opting In, will be sharing an IBM case study in the Internal Collaboration Track on how organizations can become more successful by becoming a social business. Ed will outline the process of becoming a social business, through organizational commitment, cultural change, the right tools and a strategy for engagement. As Director for Social Business with IBM, Ed has succeeded in elevating IBM's expertise and reputation in brand and product management. He has constantly innovated in both marketplace strategy and product execution. Committed to understanding the global marketplace, Ed has visited IBM customers in over forty countries, and is a frequent speaker at IBM and industry events worldwide.

Shani Higgins, CEO of Technorati will be delivering the closing keynote on April 24th on "The 2013 Digital Outlook - The Point of Connection: How Brands are Activating Consumers at the Points of Greatest Influence." In this session, Technorati Media will present key actionable lessons from their 2013 Digital Influence Report, an in depth multi-target survey examining the relationships between brands, consumers, and influencers across various social technologies and platforms. Under Shani's leadership, Technorati Media's network was launched in June of 2008 and has since become the largest social media advertising network, with more than 3,000 sites and a US reach of 183 million. Shani was a driving force behind the Technorati Media acquisition of SV Moms in 2010 and BlogCritics in 2008, and directed the development of the Technorati Media Exchange- the first private exchange for brand-safe independent and socially engaging publishers- launched in April 2011.
