Top microbloggers buzz about Teen Choice Awards, Lady Gaga's Fame formula

Twitter's second most followed user Justin Bieber scored the award for Best Male Artist at the 14th annual Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, July 22.

Bieber told his followers he had the winning feeling in his heart before he hit the stage, tweeting, "just gonna have fun with it tonight. i already won = my beliebers. but regardless when it comes time to perform...we are going in!"

Fellow top 10 Twitter user Taylor Swift picked up a gaggle of Teen Choice Awards too, including Choice Female Artist, Choice Single by a Female Artist, Choice Country Song, Choice Female Country Artist and Choice Movie Voice.

Taylor Swift excitedly tweeted, "5 Teen Choice Awards?! I'm so happy I'm so happy I'm so happy I'm so happy I'm so happy-- thank you so much for voting!"

Selena Gomez, One Direction, Miley Cyrus and Zac Efron were also among the big winners at the event.

Meanwhile, Twitter's number one user Lady Gaga has been busy plugging her Little Monsters social network on the microblogging site, luring her followers with the promise of exclusive posts and fresh new content.

She tweeted, "So last minute surprise! In a few hrs were going to debut FAME, the fragrance campaign ad shot by STEVEN KLEIN on http://www.littlemonsters.com ."

Lady Gaga also revealed the formula of "The First Ever Black Eau de Parfum" in a video posted on Little Monsters. The perfume is "Made from Pulverized Apricot, Crushed Heart of Tiger Orchidea, and Tears of Belladonna. This is the formula of FAME," declared the sexy French voice in the video.

The Twitter star also put her ever-growing tally of followers in context by tweeting, "apparently my # of followers is nearly equivalent to the entire population of Australia and NZ combined. TWITTERLAND IS A REAL PLACE."

Third party estimates put Twitter at more than 500 million registered users. Sina reported that it had more than 300 million registered users on Sina Weibo in February 2012.
