Dutch soccer player Robin Van Persie and American singer Taylor Swift were among the fastest-rising search terms around the world last week.
Dutch national and former striker for English Premier League club Arsenal Robin Van Persie made headlines last week after completing a drawn-out transfer to rival club Manchester United for around 30 million euros.
The transfer made headlines throughout Europe and led to searches for 'Robin Van Persie' increasing by over 300 percent.
Also in this week's top ten Google Insights is American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift who recently caused a massive buzz by dropping her latest single 'We are never ever getting back together.' The single is taken from the singer's forthcoming album Red which is slated for release in the fall.
Also getting people searching over the past week is the recently released Bollywood action film Ek Tha Tiger which stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Ranvir Shorey; released on August 15 in India the film has already shattered box office records in the country.
The top search term ??? refers to Li Zongrui, a Taiwanese heir who is accused of drugging and raping upwards of 60 women.
